I wore this look in my birthday photos with a few of my friends that I shared here on the blog last month. I didn't feel like you really got to see what I was wearing up close so I wanted to be sure to highlight it in this post. I am also linking up with Still Being Molly for her #LETITSHINE linkup that just so happens to be featuring dots this week!
TOP: DIY (Fabric sold out) | SKIRT: DIY (Similar Fabric HERE, HERE, HERE) | SUNNIES: Steve Madden (old) | SHOES: Defyant by Steve Madden (sold out) | CLUTCH: Target (Similar HERE) | BRACELET: Michael Kors (old)

Generally I would not wear the same print/pattern on my top and on my bottom. But it works for me and I think that is what makes the outfit. The reason this works is because of the differences in texture between the top and skirt as well as the varying sizes of dots.
I just love this look! It is fun and the skirt is flirty and sassy! I can definitely see myself creating this look again. The good thing about it is the sewing time is short!
The shirt has dolman cap length sleeve. The skirt is just gathered into a waste band with an invisible zipper closure. All patterns used for this look were self-drafted. I am working on a tutorial on how to make the skirt and it will be up on the blog soon. So check back! In the meantime, can check out my other tutorials.

Thank you for reading!
Is there a pattern that you like to wear throughout your outfits (Stripes, plaid)? What do you think of too much matching?
