#OOTD: How to Style A Graphic Skirt?

Rhianna's Studio DIY Graphic Pencil Skirt and Denim Shirt
Hello Loves!
I hope you are having a great week so far! Happy Tuesday! The first day of the summer program seems to have gotten off to a great start. The students are really smart and work very quickly. I hope I have enough for them to do so they do not get bored. If not, I guess we will take a trip to the mall for a day :-) As promised, I am sharing with you the skirt I made during my design challenge with you today.
I actually took these photos on Father's Day with the help of my husband behind the camera and my sister and dad offering direction :-)
The inspiration for this look comes from a picture I saw on Facebook that was posted by a sewer in a private group and I knew I had to recreate this look because  I just love the way this looks on Monifah!
Here is my interpretation. I have to say I love it! I wish I could find a shirt closer to Monifah's I love the detail in her denim shirt it gives it more dimension. Whereas mine is a little flat to me. But I still love it. What do you think of it?

This shirt is not a fitted denim shirt. I took the shirt it in some in the back to take out some of the fullness. I did not like the bulk of the shirt with the fitted skirt. I will post a tutorial on how to do that soon.  I added snaps in the front placket, you can view the tutorial for that here.
The skirt is my typical pencil skirt I make with one seam in the back. You can review more details of making this skirt here.

This fabric is from Spandex World. It sold out right after I ordered my two yards. I like this fabric. It feels good and  it is fairly easy to sew. I  hand sewed the hem. I did not want to interrupt the graphic on the fabric by having an obvious stitch line.
