#TBT: Bikini Edition!

Hello Loves!
I hope you all are doing well. In honor of Throw Back Thursday I am sharing one of the bikinis I made as part of my second fashion show in my undergraduate program.
I showed this piece at the Art To Wear fashion show at NC State in Raleigh, NC.  It was the finale piece in the collection.  The other bikinis were fur. Here is a sneak peek at two of them. I will share the others in another #tbt post soon.

The base of the bikini is satin. I drew the flowers on her body using acrylic paint. I attached each flower by hand an they were strategically place on the jacket to create the desired design.

In undergrad I was all about making conventional garments using unconventional materials. It was fun and challenged me to be very creative. I miss this type of design but it isn't realistic. It is just for show! However, it can be translated so that it works for a functioning bikini. It would be a printed lycra instead of having the flowers applied to the garment. But that isn't as fun :-)

Here is a different take on the bikini styling!

Thank you for reading!

I love these enhanced pictures that Google+ makes for me!
