#tbt How to Style a Maxi Dress?

 Hello Everyone!

Happy Throw Back Thursday to you! Today I am throwing it back to last year LOL! to my first attempt at maxi dresses. I made two maxi dresses last year around this time. One for a client and the other for me.
---------------------------------------
The blue and white striped maxi dress was for a client. The dress is actually lined however the lining does not go the length of the dress. I had to line it because the white stripes are lace. Therefore they are shear and for modesty I used a skin-toned mesh knit lining.

I love a close fit maxi dress! The dress looked really  good on the client and she loved it!
The fabric was from JoAnn Fabric.

First off, please excuse my facial expression in this picture. This is a dress that I created for myself, obviously. The fabric is from lowpricefabric.com. But they do not have this particular fabric anymore. But they have some awesome striped knits that you can find here
I always love a denim jacket with a maxi dress or a blazer too. What do you think?

I am always styling things up LOL!. A lot of my designs focus on the natural waist. When there is not a seam or some definition that accentuates the natural waist I will always add a belt. This is a part of my style regardless if it is in fashion or not! I believe accenting the natural waist compliments most body types, especially hourglass and pear. Accentuating the natural waist, especially with a belt will bring the eye to the smallest area of the torso and elongate the leg making you look taller and sometimes thinner (especially when paired with heels!)

How do you jazz up your maxi dress?

Thank you for reading!
