Day 7: What Ensemble Was Created in the Studio?

Hello Everyone!
I hope you are well. I am feeling much better today. Saturday I stayed in bed all day and Sunday I slept most of the day. I was able to turn out one ensemble on Sunday to close out my 7 day challenge. Check out the pictures and let me know what you think.
On Day 7 I actually cut and finished a skirt and top but I also cut out a couple of pencil skirts. Because I was unable to finish it and looking around I made a pretty large dent in the original pile, I have decided to extend the challenge through this week! I can't wait to see what all I accomplish. I don't know why it's taken a challenge to jump start me back into my sewing routine but hey, whatever works, right?
I made some changes to the original design that I previewed here

Another graphic tee. This fabric was such a pain to work with. Not because it is striped. I've worked with stripes before but this fabric was skewed. On the selvage the fabric pulled to the center so bad. It was so hard to cut. Also I had to piece together this shirt by cutting four times and adding a seam in the center of the shirt. Stripes not matching usually drives me crazy but I was so tired of working with this fabric I just kept moving forward. I don't think  is the worst and it makes it look store bought LOL! Have you noticed that a lot of times when you purchase striped items in the store the stripes are not matched, especially on the side seams.  It almost creates a pattern so I am ok and when it is on it even less noticeable.

As I mentioned I cut out two additional skirts yesterday that has inspired me to continue the challenge. I created this design last year. I have decided to make another skirt that is a little longer to give a different look to this ensemble.  That is what I will sew today on Day 8 of the challenge!

The new look is below.

What do you think?
I am excited about this skirt. I love the print design. I am planning to style this with a denim button down shirt that I purchased but need to alter. I will do a DIY on how I adjust the shirt to make it more fitted. You can check out a denim button down DIY I did to close the gap in the front placket of the shirt here

Last week I started looking around in my closet and my current jewelry organization I have going on and I am thinking of doing a few display DIY's to pretty up my current situation. Have you done or plan to do any DIY projects this week? If so, share some images with me. I would love to see them! I absolutely love YouTuber Lisa Pullano's channel. She does some amazing DIY projects. If you have not checked her out you should. I am planning to do one of her DIY projects for displaying jewelry and I will share the video and images of my take and commentary on my experience with doing one of her DIY's. I have not tried one yet. But I love her videos!

Check out the pile I started with here

As always, thank you for reading!
