OOTD:Dressy-casual!

Hello Everyone!
I am a woman of my word :-) Here are some pictures of the Dressy-casual look showcasing my DIY Pencil Skirt!
-------------------------------
Generally I take my own photos for my blog. But today my husband helped me so I didn't have to figure out where to hid the remote while wearing an outfit with no pockets, LOL! He is not a trained photographer, otherwise I would have him shoot for me all the time. But for a 5 minute lesson on how to use the camera, I think he did a good job.

The Look: Navy Blue and White Striped Shirt (JCP - Joe Fresh), DIY Pencil Skirt (Fabric: Girl Charlee), Sandals - Aldo shoes, Necklace (Bauble Bar).
 --------------------------------
The Fit: A pencil skirt is a must have in every woman's closet. This skirt flatters all figures when the appropriate size is purchased and an understanding of body type is possessed. The pencil skirt is one that can really compliment the curves of a woman. It can be sophisticated (depending on the fabric) and sexy. It makes for a great wear to work piece, a casual piece, and a date night piece (depending on the fabric of course)!!

I really like GirlCharlee.com's cotton lycra fabric. If you have read my prior fabric haul posts you would read that Girl Charlee is very slow in shipping to the east coast, except when you order $100 worth of fabric and get free shipping. But when you pay for shipping it comes slow. If you are planning to use their fabric to meet a deadline plan ahead unless you are spending enough for free shipping.

The fabric sews well. It is soft and feels good. It is a light to medium weight cotton lycra knit fabric. I love this skirt and even though I hate waiting I will continue to order from Girl Charlee.

They are located in LA. I wonder if they have a store for the public to shop??? I'll have to check into that for my next trip to LA :-)

This face - confused but that walk - killer :-) Smooches!

P.S. I hate being photographed but I'm working on it!

Thank you for reading!

Very cute outfit! I like the matching of stripes and solids. I see how the pencil skirt is figure flattering. Kudos to the Hubby's photo shoot!
