Music & Fashion!

Photograph: DVF FW2014 collection via vogue website

Hello Everyone!
I have always wanted to go to Fashion Week but I have not yet gotten an opportunity. I've never even watched a live stream of a show until yesterday! My favorite female designer was so kind to share with the public her FW2014 collection.
As you may or may not know, Diane Von Furstenberg celebrated 40 years of her timeless wrap dress.  It was inspired by the wrap sweater that ballerinas wear to keep their muscles warmed up. Highlights of the show for me were her use of mixing prints, layering, and the sweaters over the dresses.
Here are some of the pieces I liked from the show

One cool thing that DVF did was mixed live music with her fashion show. She has St. Vincent perform as her models rocked the runway. DVF believes the music choice is important to the runway show. That is exactly how I feel. My husband is a hip hop music producer and whenever I hear him play one of his creations out loud I envision in my mind what style of runway walk I could put to the music for my next fashion show :-)
My husband and I always collaborate on my music for my fashion shows. You can check out some of his music (Black Talon beats) here. Here is a video of one of our collaborations! This was actually a critique at the end of one of my classes in school in like 2007 or 2008.

As always, thank you for reading!!
