My First!

Hello Everyone!
I am so proud of myself today! I finally put my new Nikon D3200 camera and shutter release remote to use! Yes, I photographed my own OOTD! Keep reading to see how it worked out.
I was very apprehensive about going out to take my own pictures for a number of reasons. The main reason was people would stare and I would get nervous and not want to complete the shoot. After class, I made up my mind that I would just do it! If I never get started it will never happen, right? To overcome my apprehension of people staring I chose a quiet area in the back of my apartment complex. I have to take baby steps :-) Okay, so this is not an official outfit of the day post but it made for great practice!

This is a casual look for an 8:30AM class. I got the purse from Aldo, the  Boots are old from Aldo, the Coat is old from New York and Company, the Turtleneck is old from Target, the Skirt is a D.I.Y. Pencil Skirt made with a knit fabric.
I am so excited to know a photographer and I am lucky enough that she has agreed to take me on as a student so that I can pick great locations and get the best use out of my time and my camera! So better locations to come ;-) Thanks Jodie!

From time to time I would forget that I was holding the remote hehe. That is why there is only one image without the coat on. I couldn't think of where to hide the remote. LOL! I do believe practice makes perfect and if I keep doing this I will only get better.

This is my favorite pose :-)

Thank you for reading!
