Painting Stripes:: OOTD!

Hello Everyone! It has been a while since I posted anything to the blog. I have been so busy with school. I am enrolled in a PhD program and although it is my first year, it requires a lot of work.

  I also have to travel 1hr each way for a two hour class. So a big chunk of my day is used up and the remainder of the time I am doing research, writing papers, sewing, and taking care of a household. But I have worked out a schedule that I believe will work if I stick to it. There should be more regular posts from here on out :-) Below are pictures of an outfit I wore for a dinner with the girls.

 I make all of my garment patterns by hand. I do not use store bought patterns. I can research similar patterns for you all if you would like, just leave a comment so I can add that to my blog. Otherwise I will just share with you all my style.
DIY Striped 3/4 Length  Dolman Sleeve, DIY Highwaist Black Knit Pants Both fabrics are from GirlCharlee.com The Belt is a DIY with Elastic Bleting, Faux Leather and a reused clasp.

Pink is my favorite color so I accented my neutral heavy outfit with Pink Suede Pumps (Aldo, Old) and DIY Button Earrings and Mac Pink Lip gloss

A close up of the accessories! The necklace is from baublebar.com

To my fellow designers, seamstresses, and home sewers the fabric from girlcharlee.com used to make the pants and top are of great quality. Girl Charlee is very slow to ship order under $100 but I have no complaints about the fabric I receive.  They give free samples stapled to a postcard but the samples are not listed by name so it makes it hard to reorder. A nice thing about the postcard is it gives you tips for sewing with knits!

Thank you for reading!
